What is a Company?
A Company can be a Customer, who you sell to, or a Vendor, ****who you buy from. (One Company can be both a Customer and a Vendor, if you want.)
There are multiple ways to Adding a Company. The easiest way is to add it from the ‘Business Setup’. However, a Company can be created while creating a Quote, Sales Order or Purchase order too.
Method 1: From “Business Setup”
Click on the downward arrow situated beside “Business Setup” on the menu bar. This will expand the contents of the Business Setup.
Then click on “Companies”.
Following that, click on “+ New Company”.
You may begin by adding the Name of the company and uploading an image such as the company logo for easier reference and navigation.
Then define whether the company is a Customer, Vendor or both. Then click on “+New Contact”. Enter the necessary information like First Name, Last Name, Email and Phone. You may choose to set it as a default contact. Ensure to click on “Save”.
Next, click on “+New Address” to add the address of the company. Enter the necessary information like Address, City, Region, Postal Code and Country. You may choose to set it as default Billing and/or Shipping address. Ensure to click on “Save”.
You may then add any “Custom Fields”. You are also encouraged to add any notes or shipping notes which will be reflected in the Shipping and Receiving section.
You may “Confirm” to save when you are satisfied with the information entered.
Method 2: From “Quotes”
Note: This method can be only used when you are trying to add a New Company while creating a Quote. (New Company has to be part of the Quote)
Quotes > create Quote > Company > + New Company
Navigate to the “Quotes” Product module and click on “Create Quote”.
Click on the “Company” dropdown.
