All about Items

There are two main types of Item:

• Make Items - something that you produce in your workshop

  Adding a New Make Item

• Buy Items - something that you buy from an external Vendor

You can setup your Items however you like, by filling in the fields provided, adding your own Custom Fields, writing descriptions and comments, and uploading files.

Part of a Make Item is its Routing - these are the steps (or Operations) that go into producing the item.

There is also a special category of Make Item called Tooling. Tooling is reusable items are used in the production process, like work-holding devices, fixtures, jigs or end mills.

Creating a Make Item

1. On the Production Item page, click on “+New Make Item”. In the slide out modal, enter the name of the Make Item.

2. Ensure that you choose the status of the Make Item. (Make Item Status explainer inserted).

3. For easier reference, you are encouraged to upload an image of the new make item.

4. Enter the necessary details like SKU and Default storage location.
